!!Spot Conlon!!

Brooklyn's fearless leader looks pretty proud of himself in that picture. But then, who could blame him? After all, it's not every kid on the streets who's notorious for being leader of the meanest group of Newsies in New York!
If there's a fight, you want Spot and his bunch on your side. (And you pray that you'll never have to go up *against* them)
I think that Spot gets his reputation for being mean because he can conceal his feelings so well. It's kinda scary when you can't read a person. I bet his Newsies are the same way, too.
That's why I'm fascinated with him, he reminds me of Jareth, the Goblin King in the movie "Labyrinth". Seemingly evil, but you never really know because he doesn't show feelings. (Unless, of course, your a good friend. In that case, you might actually see a smile!)
On to other things now; his accessories. The cane: I fell in love with that cane the first time I saw it. It adds to the power he seems to have, for some reason.
The key: I don't know if I'm the only person who noticed this, but Spot wears a key on a string around his neck. It's an enormous key, too. That intrigued me. Could it be some link to his past? A gift from a deceased mother? A *grin* gift from a GOIL?
And lastly, the suspenders: They're RED!!!
